I have been involved with article marketing for over two years now and finally decided to start my own directory. The one thing that has proven very effective in my article marketing career has been the pen name!

The pen name is very important for keeping your business niches secret. A lot of times, thieves will come along and try yo steal your customer base by reading your articles when you become well known in the community. When someone knows who you are and also knows what niche your in, they can then build a system to either compete with you or worse, begin dominating your niche.

So, who am I and why did I start my own article directory? Well, the number one driving force behind my reason for starting an article directory is the amount of time it takes for me to write articles that are very good and have the potential of generating tons of traffic. When folks use my articles, some will remove the links in my resource box as well as removing the resource box entirely. Not Cool!

That part of the business is a given and you can only spend so much time dealing with it. Well, to make a long story a little shorter, I decided to develop my own article directory to post my articles on first. This would help in the duplicate content as well as make my article directory the primary resource for that article within all search engines. First one will always equal the best one for any particular article. Chose your directories very carefully in the beginning! Try to get your article on the most popular directory first.

I live in Washington State on an Island within the San Juans. I have lived here for about 17 years now and absolutely love the beauty of the area! Rain will get at you once in a while, but thats the price you have to pay in order to view nature and all its beauty!

I am married to a beautiful Lady named Vicki and she is my inspiration for doing everything I do. She has given birth to three kids who are all grown up now, well, almost. Anyway, my kids are great. Jason, my oldest son is almost 23 and currently lives with us until he can get back on his feet. No worries, I like having him around!

Holly is my daughter who has already given me my first grand child Ethan. Ethan is my hero and the one I miss when I’m home alone. Its so quiet now that he and my daughter has moved out. Holly is married now and is soon expecting another child! I cannot wait, the grandchildren are the reason we have kids. Holly is a stay at home mom and will eventually begin working for me once she has her next baby and is ready. I’ll wait patiently.

Taylor is my youngest son of 16 and has already went his way. He is now currently in Job Core and is accelerating as we speek. He is doing great and is very mature for his age. High School bored him and I am open enough to allow my kids to make decisions as to there future. He made the decision to join job core and I support it whole heartedly. Taylor is headed for greatness and I fully expect that he’ll surpass anything I’ve ever done.

Last but certainly not least is me and where I’ve came from. I am a current military man of 19 years. I am getting ready to retire from the navy to persue my home business on a full time basis. My career has been an adventure from the beginning. I’ve loved serving my country and will continue to be a patriot as long as I live.

My career has taken me all over the world. I’ve been to 57 different countries and have seen and done things 99% of the world can only imagine. You’ll read about my adventures soon as I am writing a biography of my adventures which will be finished in about a year. Too many things going on in my life to devote the attention a book needs. I am also a full time student with Chapman University and will be graduating with my BA in Organizational Leadership.

My free time is very limited as I have my hands in many pots all at once. The reason for doing so many things all at once is due to the fact that I am one to have fun before work. Well, not exactly. Anyway, my fun has been related so closely to my job within the military. The Navy to be exact. I have done four deployments and many detatchments to aricraft carriers over my 19 year career. In fact, I’ve been on eight of the now 13 carriers. The hard part about this has been the amount of time away from my family.

My career has had me at sea for almost five years of the nineteen I’ve served. You can imagine how this has had a major impact on my children and my beautiful wife. She is so strong for doing this on her own, I commend her for all her pain and suffering while I have been doing my job.

So, what kind of adventures have I had? Well, I’ve climbed big mountains, jumped out of perfectly good airplanes and have been involved in two wars! The first Gulf war and now the War on Terrorism. That’s a story to be told another day.

I’m always doing something and since going to college, I have learned to write exceptionally well and that is why I turned to article marketing. Actually, how I started article marketing is something most people can relate too. Being in the navy, I have very little extra spending money. I couldn’t really spend a whole lot of money on all the cool advertising ways that are so plentiful on the net.

Well, I found that it is free to advertise by writing articles and so naturally, I went with the cheapest route possible. Of course, I still ended up spending 1000’s of dollars on marketing products even though I had no money for them. Naturally, it put me in a serious crunch come bill time!

To make a long story a little shorter, I’ll tell you that article marketing is by far the best avenue to creating a solid foundation for a home business! So, why an article directory? Well, I have several thousand articles that I’ve written over the last few years and I needed a place to keep track of them all. A directory seemed natural. I just didn’t want to rely on someone elses directory, so I started my own.

This is going to take me a long time to place all my articles into the directory. I will probably be putting them here in the directory for the next 5 years. Anyway, once I realized that others may need a single resource for all there articles as well, I decided to just turn my personal diectory into an all hands directory. Navy talk for everyone. It’s hard as an article marketer to get your articles published quickly to begin generating income. I wanted a place that anyone could post an article on and have it online within 48-72 hours. The faster your article is online, the faster your making money.

I have had articles in my day take several weeks to get posted on directories. Not acceptable! So, I’ve decided to put in place a directory that can withstand reviewing articles within 24-72 hours and get an answer back to the author. The faster we can do this, the faster you make money. If I can make you profitable faster than any other directory, you will be using me and my services more than any other directory.

I am a very competitive person by nature and I want this directory to be the number one directory on the net! How can I do it? By getting my authors posted and generating money faster than any other directory.

Another reason for generating an article directory is the amount of quality articles I have access to read! You see, I love reading and read about 300 pages of writing everyday. The more the better for me. So get your articles submitted, I don’t want to run out of reading materials!

How did this all come about?

As most of you know, I run RealArticle.com which is a niche specific article directory. I also own a few others and over the last year or so, I’m getting fed up with all the crap being submitted to my directory.

As I traveled around to all the other directories, I began to see a pretty serious slow down in article submissions. This slow down is not caused by folks no longer submitting articles!

The slow down is caused by none other than those of us who are directory owners. If they are like me, then they are really looking at what’s being submitted. I gotta say that I am deleting more articles than I’m accepting. Funny thing is I’m even deleting articles from article submitting sites.

I won’t put a name out there to respect there privacy. But I have to say, I am very disappointed in the articles they’re sending me! I think its time for a product to be created that really truely helps the new article marketers at a very reasonable cost.
If you want to know, I’m angry at the fact that all my directories were kicking ass for quite some time and I was getting some great content and generating a massive paycheck by military standards.

My online businesses allowed me to by a $320,000 home, $46,000 fully loaded vehicle and just a start. The reason I’m angry is I’ve worked my butt off trying to help fellow article marketers. Lately, it seems like the only articles I get, no one would in there right mind would use them on there site.

This is absolutely unsatisfactory! Then I thought about it and realized I can help others while still maintaining my own business.

I Figured in order to keep my directories in good standing I would have to do something drastic! Personally, I really don’t want to give up my little system. But I think I need to in order to keep my money makers profitable. All that aside, it sure feels great when you get an email from another struggler saying how I’ve helped them get out of a predicament.

I think after the first response like that, I was sold on trying to help others. Of course, I have to make a living and that is why I cannot offer things totally free. Anyway, a directory is free and cost quite a bit to keep it that way.

In the very near future, I forsee the FREE directory begin to disappear. I’m starting to see more and more donations signs being posted on directories. Might be a good indication of a change in the future.
